MX-2 Marietas Islands

The Marietas Islands are located in the northern part of Banderas Bay - a short boat ride from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The photo overlooks one of the islands with people snorkeling in the foreground. The islands are a nature preserve featuring many species of bird and fish. It is a very popular destination for snorkeling and bird watching in Mexico, since the islands are one of the few locations where the blue-footed boobie can be seen.
